Fresh Touch Publicity partnered with local, non-profit organization GIRLZLIFE for its 3rd annual “Simply Giving Project” which runs November 15-25th, 2013. We are collecting CASH and PERSONAL HYGIENE items such as sanitary napkins, soap, deodorant, lotion, powder, toothpaste for young ladies between the ages of 13-15.
Our goal each year is to choose a local non-profit organization to give back to for the holiday season. We partner with other local, small businesses to sponsor this project and donate time, money, and other resources, as well as, assist with advertising and promotion.

GIRLZ LIFE Overview[p]Ages 13 to 15 are very formative years for developing a foundation for womanhood, and by making girls aware of their worth, their strengths and potential during this time, we can help them realize they can rise above their circumstances. We want all girls to have the values that will strengthen their confidence to be strong, productive, successful young ladies who will make positive contributions to their families and communities.[/p]
One of our methods of mentoring is called “team mentoring” in which our team of mentors participates in our weekly group sessions with our mentees and program staff. In our group sessions, we share with the girls in a fun, relaxed, supportive environment, focusing on such matters as character, leadership, communication, self-esteem, health and wellness, money matters, community service, confidence, health relationships, spiritual and cultural enrichment. With team mentoring, the girls have the opportunity to develop and foster unique and lasting relationships with multiple women. It also provides opportunities for the girls to receive different perspectives from a diverse group of women. Our other method of mentoring is one-on-one mentoring in which mentors are matched with a mentee. Mentors are expected to spend time with their mentee at least once a month and communicate with them often and consistently. Our mentors are also encouraged to attend extracurricular events that our mentees may be a part of. Mentoring relationships with GirlzLife have a minimum one year requirement for both mentors and mentees.
The GirlzLife motto is “Making good choices and doing the right thing”. The girls participating in this program are expected to live by this motto in every area of their lives believing that if you are for the right thing, you do it without thinking.
